How We develop
Physical Development aims to develop your child’s movement and handling skills, as well as health and safe care.
The Nursery setting provides a safe and fun environment for a multitude of indoor activities that help the children in developing hand and eye coordination and motor skills. It actively promotes the importance of sharing toys and equipment; from playing with playdough, clay, water and sand, to expressing themselves with chalk, paint, pencils, felt pens and crayons.
Outdoors: our extensive grounds include a large dedicated playground and orchard area where children can play together, whilst developing their spatial awareness and learning about respecting the personal space of others.
The mental skills or behaviours that help children access information, solve problems, reason, and conclude. A set of skills or behaviours that most children can do at a certain age range. Developmental assets are personal strengths that school-age children possess that are linked to positive healthy development.
Intellectual (or “cognitive”) development focuses on functions of the brain such as thinking, learning, awareness, judgment and processing information. Children should be given many opportunities to plan and make choices, then discuss the results of their choices. A quality early childhood education program will do just this, and parents can also incorporate choices into a child’s day (which also is shown to help prevent tantrums!).
Emotional skills are being able to recognise, express, understand and manage a wide range of feelings.
Children who can understand and manage their feelings, stay calm and enjoy experiences are more likely to develop a positive sense of self and be confident and curious learners.
Your child is learning that speech is an important tool to communicate with and relate to other people. Practising two-way conversations will help your toddler or preschooler understand social skills such as empathy, kindness, and how to be a good listener.
The conversation develops vocabulary: A strong vocabulary will help your child understand and interpret the written word, which will have benefits in later life. Two-way conversations are a great way to help your child develop his vocabulary.
Spiritual values are the integrative values of human soul consisting of altruistic, humanistic, personal, divine, and affective values leading to the spiritual growth of personality. Altruistic values refer to values promoting the spiritual growth of personalities such as Truthfulness, Kindness, Repentance, Reliance on God, Modesty, Unity, and Charity and Love.
